Two friends walk up some stairs to access the Temple of Debod area in Madrid, Spain.

The park in which the Temple of Debod is, is called 'Cuartel de la Montana' park, in reference to a 19th century military headquarters built in Madrid after the Napoleonic invasions. It was relevant years later, during the Spanish Civil War.

The park in which the headquarters was was built in 1972, and a memorial was built to those men who died defending it during the Civil War.
